Lockerz Waves – How Do They Work?

A lot of the people who come to this blog come looking for information on how Lockerz redemption waves work.

That being the case, I’m happy to oblige.

The redemption waves can start at any time within the announced timeframe. This month, it’s between March 8 and March 25, and that’s all the information that we have so far. The ptzplace site will have only the splash page until the moment that the wave starts. Also, this month only either members in the US or international members will be able to redeem, depending on which group gets the most ptz this month. That is to say, if US members earn a million ptz altogether in March and non-US members earn 500,000 then only United States members of Lockerz will be able to redeem ptz in this month’s redemption wave.

Is Lockerz a Scam?

That’s the big question right now, isn’t it?

It’s really a question with three answers… or possibly even four. It all depends on which angle you are looking at.

NCP Official Lockerz Redemption Discussion Thread

Hi all,

For those of you just getting here, welcome to the site. I’m setting this thread aside specifically for discussion of the ongoing Lockerz redemption today.

Feel free to say what you want, but PLEASE don’t swear, and please don’t post referral links. I don’t want to have to be moderating comments all night.

As long as you can follow those two simple rules, all comments are accepted. I won’t be censoring anyone or closing down the page, unlike a certain other organization.

SwagBucks – Search and Earn!

Search & Win

Good afternoon, NCP readers. I hope it’s been a wonderful one for all of you thus far. It’s about to get a lot better, I promise.

Today’s article is about my favourite search engine; (currently my browser’s default search provider) Swagbucks. Many of you have probably heard of it already.

Swagbucks is a search engine on which you win “Swag Bucks” just for searching. The results are provided by Google and Ask.com, so it’s very likely that they’re the same results you would be getting already. Swag Bucks are awarded randomly, in denominations ranging anywhere from 1 – 100, although singles are certainly the most common… not that I haven’t seen plenty of twos as well.

So why do you want Swag Bucks? Well, once you accumulate enough, you can spend them in the Swagbucks Store. I usually use mine to buy Amazon gift cards (although they do have plenty of other prizes – gift cards, cash and merchandise). A $5 Amazon gift card costs 45 Swag Bucks, and I can usually save up enough to buy two a month. Read the rest of this entry »

How do these programs work, and why do they pay? (Must-Read!)

I want to take a little time to explain exactly what affiliate and referral programs are. I want to talk about how they work, why they work, and, the million dollar question, how can I possibly earn money for free?

Whenever I show one of these programs to anyone face to face, nine times out of ten their reaction is the same. “Earn money online? That’s a scam. All of those programs to earn money online are scams or schemes.” Now, I think it’s fair to say that if you’re on this site, you’re smart enough to know that this is patently untrue. There are plenty of good programs out there that aren’t scams at all, and I (and many other members of this industry) actively work to stamp out any website that would scam its members; thus NCP’s visible (and, behind the scenes, active) support of GPTBoycott. But the question remains: even if you can convince somebody that you’re not trying to sell them snake oil, they still want to know why they can “make money for free” and “what’s in it” for the GPT site. Aside from the scam theory, people will tell you that “those sites” steal your personal information and sell it to companies, or that they give you a virus and take over your computer, or steal your PayPal information and drain your bank account…. the list of conspiracy theories regarding GPT sites goes on, and on, and on, and the only way to forestall these arguments is to have good solid information and hard fact to debunk the theories at your fingertips.

What follows, then, is a primer on GPT, PTC, affiliate and referral programs. I hope that it will not only help educate visitors to the site, but help them to educate others and further their online career.

As fair warning, this article is very long, but it’s one that I would encourage every visitor to the site to read. So take some time now, visit the bathroom, get a cold drink, get a comfy pillow, then sit back and enjoy our first tutorial – NCP’s Guide to Affililate & Referral Programs.

PrizeLive – Possibly the best PTC site on the web!

Today I’m going to tell you about my favourite site on the internet to earn money – PrizeLive.

PrizeLive is an all-in-one sort of PTC (paid-to-click) site. On the surface, it has the same activities that most PTC sites do. You can click on daily ads for a small amount and complete “Offers” (daily surveys, joining spam mailing lists, SMS text message lists, software trials… make sure that you have a throwaway email address for this site) to earn “points” which translate directly to dollars (1 point = 1 USD, in other words) and “GCs” or Game Credits, which allow you to play games on the site. This is where things get interesting.  Oh, and I should mention that PrizeLive has more offers than any other PTC site that I’ve seen, many of which are available to international members… so non-Americans, rejoice! BeRuby – Cash back on your online purchases… and your friends’ too!

BeRuby - Free money back on your purchases!

Today, I’m going to talk a little bit about BeRuby.  In essence, BeRuby is a sort of combination online search portal and homepage replacement.  It’s just getting off the ground right now – they’ve just opened up their discussion forums, and it has one very big thing going for it: a pretty significant cashback payment for a lot of major shopping sites.  Over 500 already, in fact.  And some of those include Barnes & Noble (2.66% of the purchase value), bidz.com (5.33% of the purchase value), CafePress.com at 5%, Comodo.com at 16.67%(!!!) ThinkGeek at 2.33%… the list goes on… and on… and on.
